Trevor May earns Opening Day win

by Brenton Kemp | Fri, Mar 31st 10:45am EDT

Oakland A's reliever Trevor May picked up the win in a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

May came on to pitch the top of the eighth inning and held the Angels scoreless despite surrendering a walk and a hit. The A's rallied from a 1-0 deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame to give May the win in the eventual 2-1 victory. Signed to a one-year deal this winter, May is coming off a 5.04 ERA in 26 outings with the Mets last season, albeit with a 3.87 FIP and 27% K-rate. He's posted an ERA of 3.86 or better in four of his last five seasons and will see a plethora of high-leverage situations at the back end of the A's bullpen.
