Aledmys Diaz comes up clutch on Opening Day

by Brenton Kemp | Athletics Correspondent | Fri, Mar 31st 10:51am EDT

Oakland A's utility player Aledmys Diaz came up clutch Thursday, knocking in the game-winning run in the eighth inning in a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Fantasy Impact:

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Diaz followed a Tony Kemp RBI double with a go-ahead RBI single in what stood as the winning run in an eventual 2-1 A's upset win. Diaz collected two hits in his A's debut while adding a walk to his ledger for the evening. The veteran signed a two-year deal with the A's this winter after hitting .243 with 12 home runs and a .690 OPS across 92 games with the Astros last season.
