The Diamondbacks have optioned right-hander Yilber Diaz to Triple-A Reno, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com. (Alex Weiner)
Fantasy Impact:
Diaz has shown flashes of electric stuff, but control remains a key concern as he works toward a potential big-league role. The 24-year-old logged 3.2 innings in Cactus League action this spring but remains behind several arms in Arizona’s rotation depth chart. While his long-term future as a starter is still in question, improved command at Reno could put him in line for a midseason call-up, either as rotation depth or a bullpen weapon.
