Ildemaro Vargas belts go-ahead three-run home run Tuesday

Ildemaro Vargas had just one hit in five at bats on Tuesday, but it was a big one as he belted a go-ahead, three-run home run to help the Diamondbacks to a 4-3 win over Baltimore.
Fantasy Impact:
Vargas hit his second home run of the season with two on and one out in the top of the fifth off of Baltimore starter, Trevor Rogers. It gave Arizona a 3-2 lead at the time with the Diamondbacks tacking on another run in the fifth before hanging on for the 4-3 win. Vargas has hit safely in all 11 of his games to begin the season and is now hitting .381 (16-for-42) with a 1.076 OPS. He has a career slash line of .253/.293/.367 in 471 games at the major league level so he likely won't keep us this pace. But, Vargas has certainly been one of baseball's pleasant surprises to start the 2026 season.
