Clarke Schmidt allowed five runs on seven hits over four innings with seven strikeouts and three walks in a loss on Monday against the Guardians.

After two scoreless frames, Schmidt was hit hard in the third inning for four runs including a three-run home run hit by Jose Ramirez. Schmidt will face the Blue Jays next.
