The announcement was made via an Instagram post from Segura's agency. He played 13 seasons for the Angels, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Mariners, Phillies and Marlins. He last played two years ago. His best season came in 2016 with Arizona, hitting .319 with 20 home runs, 64 RBI and 33 stolen bases.
