Shawn Armstrong takes loss as opener Thursday
by Bruno Mulé | Fri, Jun 20th 11:19am EDT
Serving as the opener for the Texas Rangers on Thursday, Shawn Armstrong (2-2) took the loss against the Royals after allowing two runs in the first inning. He surrendered one hit—a two-run homer to Vinnie Pasquantino—and a walk while striking out one batter.
Fantasy Impact:
Armstrong started as part of a bullpen game for the Rangers, filling a rotation spot vacated by Nathan Eovaldi (triceps). He could serve as the opener again for the team's next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next week against the Orioles at Camden Yards, if Eovaldi is not cleared to return from the IL.
