The Red Sox are set to receive a boost to their bullpen, as Slaten has rejoined the team in Baltimore and is expected to be activated on Thursday. Slaten, who has been sidelined since June 1 with right shoulder inflammation, impressed in his rehab assignment by not allowing an earned run over three innings with Triple-A Worcester. He is anticipated to return to his high-leverage role, and Jovani Moran is expected to be optioned to the minors in a corresponding move.
