Gurriel suffered a torn ACL on Monday while trying to avoid contact with center fielder Blaze Alexander, who made a diving catch in the left-center gap against the Texas Rangers. After getting a second opinion, he has elected to undergo season-ending surgery and will be out for at least the first two months of the 2026 season. He finished the 2025 season with a .248/.295/.418 slash line across 129 games.
