Ji Hwan Bae has been claimed off waivers by the New York Mets after being placed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this week. The outfielder appeared in 13 games for Pittsburgh during the 2025 season, going 1-for-20 with nine strikeouts. (Anthony DiComo)

The Mets have claimed INF/OF Ji Hwan Bae off waivers from the Pirates, per sources.

Bae, 26, was designated for assignment earlier this week after appearing in just 13 games for the Pirates. But he was productive at Triple-A, with an .805 OPS over 67 games.

Fantasy Impact:

Bae spent most of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Indianapolis, where he slashed .292/.380/.424 with one homer and four stolen bases across 305 plate appearances. He will now join a new organization ahead of the 2026 season.
