Nate Lavender (elbow) activated, designated for assignment

Nate Lavender (elbow) was activated from the 60-day injured list by the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday and subsequently designated for assignment. The left-hander, who has yet to make his MLB debut, will now be exposed to waivers. (Rays Communications)
Fantasy Impact:
Lavender underwent surgery in late August or early September to remove a bone spur in his left elbow. It is possible he will be available for the start of spring training. The pitcher turns 25 in January.
