Tyler Beede has signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs. The righthander will presumably be invited to spring training. (Ari Alexander on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Beede last pitched in the majors in 2024 when he appeared in 13 games for the Guardians and posted an 8.36 ERA in 14 innings. Last season, Beede started in the Twins' organization but was released in June. He finished the year in independent ball followed by a brief stint in the Mexican League. Beede has pitched parts of five seasons in the majors and has a 5.55 career ERA in 201 innings. He will likely fill organizational depth in either Double-A or Triple-A.
