Spencer Steer is expected to open the season in a utility role after the Cincinnati Reds signed Eugenio Suarez on Sunday. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Steer started 113 games at first base, 16 at designated hitter and four in left field in 2025. He is expected to move into a true utility role this season, with Eugenio Suarez and Sal Stewart handling first base and designated hitter duties and Ke’Bryan Hayes locked in at third base. Similar to 2024, Steer should see time all over the field after logging innings at left field, first base, second base, designated hitter, right field and shortstop. He finished the 2025 season with a .238/.312/.411 slash line.
