Tampa Bay Rays pitching coach Kyle Snyder said Shane McClanahan has been working out at a facility in South Tampa and that “the last six or eight weeks have been really, really good,” adding that he’s being fully built up as a starter with the expectation he’ll be part of the rotation. Fantasy Impact:
McClanahan has not pitched in the majors for the Rays since 2023, after undergoing Tommy John surgery and later addressing a nerve issue in his triceps that required surgery in 2025. The Rays will likely be cautious with him throughout spring training and the regular season, and an innings limit this year would not be surprising. Despite recent injuries, McClanahan carries tremendous upside. He is a two-time All-Star with a career 3.02 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 456 strikeouts across 404.2 innings.
