DJ Herz (elbow) placed on 60-day injured list

by David Leisering | Nationals Correspondent | Wed, Feb 11th 7:14pm EST

DJ Herz (elbow) has been placed on the 60-day injured list as he recovers from the Tommy John surgery he had last April. The move allows an open spot on the 40-man roster for Miles Mikolas. (Mark Zuckerman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Herz had a solid rookie season with the Nationals in 2024, posting a 4.16 ERA in 19 starts. Over 88.2 innings, the lefthander struck out 106 batters including a career-high 13 over six one-hit innings in just his third major league start against the Marlins. However, he went under the knife last April and it's unclear how close he is to begin a throwing program. The current expectation is for Herz to be available sometime around the All-Star break.
