Yanquiel Fernandez has been outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and invited to New York Yankees’ major league spring training as a non-roster invitee. (New York Yankees on Twitter)

Fernandez was designated for assignment last week to clear a spot on the Yankees’ 40-man roster for newly acquired Max Schuemann from the Oakland Athletics. He will remain with the club and participate in spring training as a non-roster invitee. Fernandez made his MLB debut in 2025, posting a .225/.265/.348 slash line across 147 plate appearances.
