Tyler Callihan traded to Pirates

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Wed, Mar 4th 8:15pm EST

Left fielder/second baseman Tyler Callihan has been traded from the Cincinnati Reds to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for pitcher Kyle Nicolas. (Post-Gazette Sports on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Callihan made his major league debut last season with Cincinnati and appeared in only four games before suffering a broken arm that ended his year. Prior to his call-up, Callihan was hitting .303 in 24 games with Triple-A Louisville. He was drafted in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft and has spent six seasons in the minors, batting .262 with 37 home runs and 88 stolen bases. Callihan will likely open the year in Triple-A Indianapolis, but he could see some at bats in Pittsburgh at some point in 2026.
