Carson Whisenhunt optioned to Triple-A

Whisenhunt showed improved velocity this spring but allowed 10 earned runs on eight hits and eight walks while striking out 14 across 9.1 innings in four appearances (two starts). The Giants optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento Wednesday. (Justice delos Santos)
