Nolan Schanuel belts Opening Day home run

by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Thu, Mar 26th 10:43pm EDT

Nolan Schanuel belted a solo home run for his only hit of the day in the Angels' 3-0 win over Houston on Opening Day.

Fantasy Impact:

The home run was Schanuel's only hit of the day as he went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts. But, his round tripper he hit off of Astros' reliever Christian Roa gave the Angels an insurance run in the top of the ninth. The first baseman hit .264 with 12 home runs last season and has now hit 27 home runs in 309 career games. Schanuel is not going to hit many home runs for a first baseman in fantasy, but he'll post a solid batting average and on-base percentage and could reach the 15-20 home run mark this season.
