Jordan Romano converts save on Opening Day

by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Thu, Mar 26th 10:52pm EDT

Jordan Romano pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save in an Angels' uniform, closing out a 3-0 win for Los Angeles on Thursday. Romano walked one and struck out one.

Fantasy Impact:

Romano was given the Angels' first save opportunity with Kirby Yates on the IL, and he passed with flying colors as he needed only 12 pitches to close out the victory in Houston. The veteran righthander is coming off of a disastrous 2025 season when he went 2-4 with an 8.23 ERA in 42.2 innings with the Phillies. Romano will likely receive a majority of the save opportunities with the Angels while Yates is on the shelf.
