Oneil Cruz powers Pirates past Reds Tuesday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Tue, Mar 31st 10:46pm EDT

Oneil Cruz hit his first two home runs of the season and finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three runs batted in as the Pirates knocked off the Reds, 8-3, on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Cruz crushed his first home run - a 444-foot blast - in the fourth off of Reds' starter, Brandon Williamson, then tacked on a two-run homer in the ninth against Pierce Johnson. Cruz was just 2-for-14 with eight strikeouts entering Tuesday's contest. He has posted back-to-back 20-home run seasons and should reach that mark again in 2026. However, Cruz is a career .233 hitter, so he's likely not going to carry a high average.
