Zac Gallen outduels Tarik Skubal for first win of season Wednesday

Zac Gallen (1-1) picked up his first win of the season on Wednesday as he pitched six scoreless innings in the Diamondbacks' 1-0 win over Detroit. The righthander did not walk a batter and struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

Gallen was given a 1-0 lead on the second batter of the game as Corbin Carroll took Tarik Skubal deep and then made it stand up as that proved to be the only offense of the game. Gallen threw 88 pitches to get through six innings, but dodged a bullet in the sixth. Tigers' rookie Kevin McGonigle tripled with one out, but, Gleyber Torres lined out to first baseman Jose Fernandez who then threw to third to nab McGonigle for the inning-ending double play. Gallen will take a 3.60 ERA into his next start, likely against the Mets early next week.
