Matthew Boyd (1-1) picked up his first win of the season on Wednesday as he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts in Chicago's 6-2 victory over the Angels.
Fantasy Impact:
Boyd was roughed up in his season debut against the Nationals but rebounded nicely on Wednesday with 10 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. The lefthander threw 98 pitches - 64 strikes - en route to his ninth career double-digit strikeout performance and his first since August 31, 2019 as a member of the Tigers. Boyd lowered his ERA to 6.75 through two starts and has struck out 17 batters in 9.1 innings. He's lined up to take on the Rays early next week in Tampa.
