Reds left-hander Andrew Abbott allowed four runs across 5 2/3 innings while taking his first loss of the season on Wednesday against the visiting Pirates.

Abbott yielded five hits, including a homer, along with three walks in his 5 2/3 innings of work on Wednesday. He also struck out five. The Reds' Opening Day starter pitched six scoreless innings against the Red Sox on March 26 and now sports a 3.09 ERA across his first 11 2/3 innings on the season.
