Colin Rea expected to start Wednesday against Rays

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Tue, Apr 7th 10:58pm EDT

Colin Rea is expected to start for the Cubs on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to multiple reports. Rea will likely fill Cade Horton's spot in the rotation for the time being as it was announced on Tuesday that Horton will miss the remainder of the season. (Taylor McGregor on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Rea has appeared in two games out of the bullpen this season for the Cubs. He has a 4.26 ERA, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings. He made 27 starts for Chicago last season and went 11-7 with a 3.95 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Rea won't do anything flashy, but he is certainly a capable fill-in for the Cubs' rotation. Unless you are in a deeper league, it's best to leave him on the wire at the moment.
