Gabriel Moreno (back) to be placed on injured list

Gabriel Moreno (back) will be placed on the injured list, according to multiple reports. Diamondbacks' manager Torey Lovullo described the injury as a muscular issue and added that a lengthy absence is not expected. (Nick Piecoro on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Moreno was replaced by James McCann in the bottom of the third inning on Friday. The 26-year-old backstop was hitting .275 (11-of-40) with five doubles and five runs batted in through 13 games this season. McCann and Adrian Del Castillo will likely split time behind the plate while Moreno is on the shelf. Del Castillo is the better offensive option - though he is off to a slow start this season - while McCann is better defensively and should start, at the very least, against lefties.
