Mason Englert records first save of season in shaky outing
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Mon, Apr 13th 4:33am EDT
Mason Englert allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out one on 21 pitches to earn the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the New York Yankees.
Fantasy Impact:
Englert entered the ninth inning with a 5-2 lead and, while he secured the save, he allowed a two-run home run to Aaron Judge. He was then able to get Ryan McMahon to ground out to end the game with runners on first and second. On the year, Englert owns a 10.57 ERA and 2.22 WHIP across 7.2 innings, and the Tampa Bay Rays continue to operate with a closer-by-committee approach.
