Brandon Lowe goes deep in loss to Nationals Tuesday

Brandon Lowe went 1-for-2 with his seventh home run of the season on Tuesday as the Pirates dropped a 5-4 decision to the Nationals.
Fantasy Impact:
Lowe took lefthander PJ Poulin deep in the bottom of the first inning for his team-leading seventh home run of the year. It was his third straight game with a home run and his fourth during the stretch. Lowe also walked and scored in the fourth, but, for some reason, was pinch-hit for by Nick Yorke with the bases loaded and one out in the seventh against lefty Cionel Perez - despite homering off of a southpaw earlier in the game. Yorke grounded into an inning-ending double play. Lowe is just 2-for-21 with a home run against lefthanders this season, but it's still an interesting decision to replace one of the team's best hitters in a big, late-inning situation. Lowe is hitting .268 with seven home runs and 15 RBI this season and may, perhaps, get more chances against lefties moving forward.
