Edward Cabrera picks up second win of year Friday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, Apr 17th 9:07pm EDT

Edward Cabrera improved to 2-0 on the young season as he allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings during the Cubs' 12-4 win over the Mets on Friday. The righthander walked two and struck out four.

Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera didn't have his best performance on Friday, but he pitched well enough to earn the victory against the reeling Mets. He allowed at least one baserunner in all six innings, though he did pitch to the minimum in two innings by getting a 3-6-3 double play in the third and a strikeout-caught stealing double play to end the fourth. Cabrera moved to 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA in four starts. However, he has allowed 29 baserunners in 22.2 innings, including 11 free passes and only 17 strikeouts. Cabrera is lined up to face the Phillies on Wednesday in his next time out.
