Edward Cabrera settles for no-decision Thursday
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, Apr 24th 9:04am EDT
Edward Cabrera pitched seven innings on Thursday and allowed five runs - three earned - on six hits and settled for a no-decision in the Cubs' 8-7, 10-inning victory over the Phillies.
Fantasy Impact:
It was a mixed bag of results for Cabrera, who allowed only six hits and no walks in seven innings, but two of the hits were solo home runs to Brandon Marsh - the first home runs he had allowed all season. He was also hurt by a costly error in a three-run seventh inning for the Phillies, or his pitching line would've looked much better. Cabrera has still been a solid acquisition for the Cubs as he sports a 2-0 record with a 2.73 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP through five starts. However, his 22:11 K:BB ratio in 29.2 innings is a bit underwhelming. Cabrera is scheduled to start in San Diego on Tuesday.
