Ryne Nelson allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings on Sunday but escaped with a no-decision as the Diamondbacks came-from-behind to defeat the Padres, 12-7.
Fantasy Impact:
Nelson walked two and struck out four in his five innings but could not figure out how to retire Manny Machado. The Padres' third baseman hit two home runs and drove in five of the six runs Nelson allowed. After starting the year with a 3.54 ERA in his first four starts, Nelson has allowed 14 earned runs on 15 hits in 5.1 innings over his last two starts, ballooning his ERA to 7.71. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch against the Cubs on Saturday.
