Jack Kochanowicz deserves better fate Monday
by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Tue, Apr 28th 8:22am EDT
Jack Kochanowicz went six-plus innings on Monday and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits, walked one, and struck out five in a no-decision against the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact:
Kochanowicz allowed a run on four hits through the first six innings as the Angels built up a 4-1 lead. However, both batters he faced in the seventh reached base - the first on an error and the second on a bunt single - before exiting. His bullpen could not hold as the White Sox went on to score seven times in the inning. It was another strong effort for Kochanowicz, however, as he has pitched to a 2.03 ERA in five April starts. Overall, he is 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA and, although his 24:18 K:BB ratio is not great, he has limited opponents to a .189 average and one home run in 35 innings. Kochanowicz is scheduled to start against the Mets on Sunday.
