Ildemaro Vargas extended his hitting streak to 24 games on Tuesday with a single in the eighth inning during Arizona's loss to Milwaukee. Vargas finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a sacrifice bunt.
Fantasy Impact:
In what was his final at bat of the night, Vargas lined a single to center to extend his hitting streak to 24 consecutive games dating back to last season. His streak is now tied with Tony Womack (2000) for third-longest in franchise history and trails only Paul Goldschmidt's 26-game streak (2013-14) and Luis Gonzalez' franchise-record 30-game streak in 1999. Vargas has his season average up to .370 (30-for-81) with six home runs, 20 RBI, and a ridiculous 1.109 OPS through 21 games this year.
