Ildemaro Vargas keeps hitting streak going Thursday

by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Fri, May 1st 12:34am EDT

Ildemaro Vargas went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles on Thursday during the Diamondbacks' 13-1 loss to the Brewers.

Fantasy Impact:

Vargas singled in both the fourth and sixth innings on Thursday to extend his hitting streak to 26 games dating back to last season. He is now tied with Paul Goldschmidt (2013-14) for the second-longest hitting streak in franchise history and trails only Luis Gonzalez' 30-game streak in 1999. Vargas currently leads the majors with a .378 batting average (34-for-90) and has already tied his career-high with six home runs this season. He has been one of baseball's biggest stories - and surprises - over the first month of the season.
