Josh Ekness records first career save Sunday
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Marlins Correspondent | Mon, May 11th 3:37am EDT
Josh Ekness recorded the final out in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Washington Nationals to earn his first career save.
Fantasy Impact:
Ekness, the Miami Marlins No. 30 prospect, was called up last week and has since recorded his first career save. He entered Sunday’s game with two outs and a runner on third and got Curtis Mead to line out to end the game. He owns a 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with two strikeouts across 3.1 innings this season. The Marlins will continue to use a closer-by-committee approach until Pete Fairbanks (nerve irritation) returns.
