New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Jorge Polanco's left Achilles bursitis is unlikely to fully resolve this season and that the team is focused on getting him to a place where he can play through the discomfort. (Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Polanco has not played since April 14, dealing with the Achilles injury and a wrist contusion that landed him on the injured list. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection in mid-April to help provide temporary relief for his Achilles bursitis, but the injury has lingered. Mendoza said he hopes the injury resolves, but acknowledged it is likely something Polanco will have to manage going forward. He will need to reach a place where he feels comfortable enough to play through the discomfort. He remains without a timeline for return.
