Reid Detmers allowed eight runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings as he suffered his fifth loss of the season on Tuesday.

Detmers allowed a season-high eight runs, but did strike out eight batters and has now struck out at least eight in four of his ten starts. He also did not allow a home run and has surrendered just four in 55 innings this season. Detmers is 1-5 with a 5.07 ERA, but has pitched better than his numbers suggest - he has allowed less than one hit per inning and has a 61:19 K:BB ratio putting him in a tie for seventh in the American League in strikeouts. He's scheduled to take on the Rangers on Sunday in Los Angeles.
