Jake McCarthy swipes ninth bag of season Wednesday
by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Wed, May 20th 11:22pm EDT
Jake McCarthy went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a stolen base on Wednesday as the Rockies suffered a 5-4 loss to the Rangers.
Fantasy Impact:
McCarthy hit leadoff for the Rockies on Wednesday and continued to swing a hot bat with two more hits - including a triple. His stolen base was his ninth of the season, moving him into a tie for ninth in the National League. McCarthy is hitting .326 (15-for-46) with two home runs, 11 RBI, and three stolen bases during the month of May and, overall, is hitting .294 with an .828 OPS in 39 games. His playing time is trending up again and he has moved back into the leadoff spot in an improved Rockies' offense. He may be worth taking a flier on, especially in deeper leagues.
