Jake McCarthy has big day Saturday to lift Rockies

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Sun, May 31st 9:07am EDT

Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a home run, four runs batted in, and a stolen base on Saturday to lift the Rockies to an 8-3 win over the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

McCarthy walked and scored in the first, hit a two-run homer in the fourth, had an RBI single in the fifth, and another RBI single in the seventh for his first three-hit game of the season. He also stole second and scored in the seventh to cap off his big night. The home run was McCarthy's third of the season with all three coming during the month of May. Meanwhile, his steal in the seventh was his 10th stolen base of the year, tying him for 10th-most in the National League. McCarthy is quietly having a solid season, batting .288 with three home runs, 23 runs batted in, and 10 stolen bases in 48 games. He's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
