Didier Fuentes picks up first career save
by Nate Miller | Braves Correspondent | Sun, Jun 7th 5:00pm EDT
Didier Fuentes picked up a save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Pirates, giving up no runs on two hits and zero walks while striking out two during a scoreless ninth inning.
Fantasy Impact:
With closer Raisel Iglesias and top setup man Robert Suarez both resting Sunday, Fuentes stepped into the game to try to preserve a one-run lead in the ninth. The young hurler made it interesting, but he ultimately clamped down to retire the last two batters he faced, stranding two base runners in the process. This was the first career save for Fuentes, and he has been outstanding in 17 relief appearances for the Braves so far this season, turning in a 1.17 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 23 innings.
