Mason Montgomery pitched a scoreless first inning as the opener on Sunday during the Pirates' 3-2 loss to the Braves.

Fantasy Impact:

Montgomery needed 25 pitches to get through the first as he allowed a pair of walks and a double to Ozzie Albies. However, he was able to strike out the struggling Austin Riley with the bases loaded to escape damage. He also struck out Ronald Acuna, Jr. for the first out of the inning. Montgomery has served as the opener in four games this season and has not allowed a run in four innings while striking out seven on those occasions.
