Kyle Freeland has historic moment in Sunday's no-decision

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Sun, Jun 7th 11:48pm EDT

Kyle Freeland allowed three runs on seven hits, walked one, and struck out two across five innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

After getting Luis Rengifo to fly out to lead off the fifth inning, Freeland received a standing ovation from the Coors Field crowd as he broke the Rockies' franchise record for most innings pitched in a Colorado uniform with 1313.1 innings. It broke Aaron Cook's previous record which he accomplished from 2002-11. Freeland also had one of his better pitching lines since coming off of the injured list on April 28, allowing three runs (or fewer) for just the second time in his last eight starts. Freeland opened the year with a 2.30 ERA in his first three outings, but after missing a couple of turns in the rotation in mid-to-late April, he has pitched to a 9.64 ERA over his last eight starts. Overall, Freeland is 1-6 with a 7.81 ERA and a 45:16 K:BB ratio in 11 starts. The lefthander is scheduled to take on the Athletics on Saturday.
