by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Jun 10th 11:47pm EDT
Ryne Nelson allowed seven runs on eight hits, walked one, and struck out two in four innings of work on Wednesday. Arizona suffered an 8-0 loss to Miami.
Fantasy Impact:
Nelson started off well, facing one batter over the minimum in the first two innings. The righthander allowed a single run in the third, but then was tagged for six runs in the fourth as the Marlins blew the game open. Five of the six runs came on a pair of homers - a two-run shot by Owen Caissie and a three-run blast by Kyle Stowers. Nelson entered Wednesday's contest having pitched to a 2.89 ERA over his previous seven starts. However, he has struck out three batters or fewer in five consecutive outings. He'll take a 2-5 record and a 5.19 ERA into his next start against the Angels on Monday.
