Spencer Horwitz scores twice, plates winning run Saturday
by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sat, Jun 13th 11:34pm EDT
Spencer Horwitz went 1-for-3 and had a hand in all three Pirates' runs on Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Marlins.
Fantasy Impact:
Horwitz was hit by a pitch in the first and came in to score on an RBI single from Ryan O'Hearn. He then singled in the third and later scored on a double by Bryan Reynolds. Finally, with the game still tied at 2-2 in the eighth, Horwitz was again hit by a pitch - this time with the bases loaded - to bring home the eventual game-winning run. Horwitz could be looking at a breakout campaign in 2026 as he is batting .286 with nine homers and 31 runs batted in through 65 games. He hit a career-high 12 home runs in 2024 and drove in a career-best 51 runs last season.
