Gregory Soto collects tenth save of season Saturday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sun, Jun 14th 1:01am EDT

Gregory Soto tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 10th save of the season and to preserve a 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Soto allowed a leadoff single to Esteury Ruiz, who then followed that up with a steal of second with nobody out in the top of the ninth. However, the Marlins were unable to scratch across the tying run. Soto has made four appearances this month and has pitched to a 16.88 ERA, allowing five runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. Overall, however, Soto has been quite good, going 4-1 with 10 saves, a 3.26 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP, and a 35:12 K:BB ratio across 30.1 innings of work this season. He has supplanted Dennis Santana as the primary closer in Pittsburgh.
