Braxton Ashcraft allowed two runs - one earned - on four hits in six innings on Wednesday, helping the Pirates to a 12-4 victory over the Athletics.
Fantasy Impact:
Ashcraft, who improved to 6-3 on the season, walked three and struck out seven as his breakout season continues. The righthander did not allow a hit until Jonah Heim singled with two outs in the fourth. He then ran into trouble in the sixth as the A's scored two runs on three hits, a walk, and an error to end his night. Ashcraft lowered his ERA to 3.18 on the season and his seven strikeouts gave him 97 for the year - tied for fourth-most in the National League - as he continues to make a strong case for a spot on the NL All-Star team next month. He is lined up to face the Mariners on Wednesday in his next start.
