Javier Assad earns fifth win of season Wednesday

Javier Assad improved to 5-1 on the season, allowing two runs on five hits over 5.2 innings, in an 8-6 Cubs' win over the Rockies on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact:
Assad did not walk a batter and struck out only one, but was aided by a seven-run second inning by the Cubs' offense. Both runs Assad allowed came on solo home runs - both by Sterlin Thompson - in the third and fifth innings. In his last two starts, he has allowed two runs on eight hits with a 6:1 K:BB ratio in 11.2 innings of work. All told, in 11 appearances (five starts), he has a 3.89 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP in 44 innings. If he gets another turn in the rotation, he would square off against the Mets on Tuesday.
