Justin Dean triples for first major league hit Friday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sat, Jun 20th 12:23am EDT

Justin Dean went 1-for-2 with a bases-clearing triple on Friday, helping the Cubs to a 16-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Fantasy Impact:

After 745 games and more than 3,000 plate appearances in the minors, Dean tripled with the bases loaded in the seventh on Friday for his first career major league hit. Dean was hitting .238 with 14 stolen bases at Triple-A Iowa prior to his call-up and is a lifetime .251 hitter in the minors with 42 home runs and 253 stolen bases during his eight-year minor league career. While Dean, more than likely, won't play enough to be fantasy relevant, this was a day he won't forget and was one of the feel good moments of the season.
