Jake McCarthy rips inside-the-park home run Saturday

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Sun, Jun 21st 10:09am EDT

Jake McCarthy went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and scored both Colorado runs in a 2-1 victory over the Pirates.

Fantasy Impact:

McCarthy led off the bottom of the first with an inside-the-park home run off of Pittsburgh starter Paul Skenes which tied the game at 1-1. It was a scorching line drive to center that got past a diving attempt from Jake Mangum and, with McCarthy's speed, he easily circled the bases for his fifth home run of the year. He then doubled and scored in the third to put Colorado ahead for good. McCarthy is hitting .333 (20-for-60) with three of his five home runs over his last 15 games. Overall, he is enjoying his first season in Colorado by hitting .292 with five home runs, 28 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 62 games.
