Bryce Elder hammered early in Sunday's loss

by Nate Miller | Braves Correspondent | Mon, Jun 22nd 8:33am EDT

Bryce Elder gave up eight runs on 12 hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings in Sunday's 9-4 loss to the Brewers.

Fantasy Impact:

For the second straight start, Elder put the Braves in an early hole due to one horrible inning. On Sunday, the Brewers tagged the righty for an eight-spot in the second frame. Atlanta manager Walt Weiss stuck with his starter, however, and Elder proceeded to roll off four straight scoreless innings. Still, Elder has surrendered 14 earned runs over his last two outings. He'll be a gamble for fantasy purposes going into Saturday's start in San Francisco.
